TRIBUTE TO DONORS 2010

24 YEARS OF HONORING THE GIVERS OF OUR 2nd LIFE

by Renina M. Siocon Image

June 19, 2010 is a red-letter day for both recipients and donors of the Kidney Transplant Association of the Philippines, or better known as KITAP.  For twenty-four years now, KITAP has religiously given a special day devoted to our beloved kidney donors. A “Tribute to Donors” is held every June, the Kidney Month celebration.  It is a whole day affair starting off with the registration of guests and attendees manned by the secretariat led by Lheny Torrecampo, Liberty Calla and Vicky de Leon. Andrew Lavandero offered the morning prayers while Josie Cruz led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Our President, Ms. Tess Prima gave a heartfelt welcome address and emphasized the importance of the day being celebrated. She gave a preview of what to expect for the day’s festivity while hinting what could possibly be our activities next year considering that 2011 is the silver anniversary of KITAP.  Ms. Prima further thanked our loyal sponsors who have generously shared in all of KITAP’s activities.
